FEATURE:
Drive 40V is a more aerodynamic 1300g rim brake carbon spoke wheel set designed by an engineer from Elitewheels’ development team, who is best at climbing wheel sets. Drive 40V is characterized by significant wheel rigidity and efficient power transmission. Brake surface with better braking performance have no fear of slippery roads.
It comes with ceramic bearing as standard. High precision CNC machining eliminates friction of bearing and reduces power loss, which makes it easier for you to climb.
With high tension value carbon spokes, the wheel sets have more direct conductivity, which is immediate response after the force is generated.
DRIVE RIMS
Drive 40V uses a brand new look. The appearance of each rim was hand made and unique, with a different carbon fiber texture on each rim surface. Drive 40V has a rim height of 40mm, an inner width of 19.5mm and an outer width of 28mm. It was optimized again on the basis of the original U shape rim, the bottom was V-shaped appropriately so as to make a U/V shape. It can better reduce the lateral wind resistance, and enhance the stability of lateral turning in the mean time. 19.5mm inner width is compatible with wider outer tires, allowing you to ride under relatively low tire pressure, which increases shock absorption ability and brings you with better riding experience.
CARBON SPOKES
Drive 40V uses carbon fiber spokes made of high-modulus carbon fiber wire. Carbon fiber spokes have higher rigidity and higher tensile strength, and the lateral response is 7% higher than that of the same steel spokes, and the high frequency vibration absorption capacity of carbon spokes is stronger than that of steel spokes. This is the biggest advantage of carbon spokes, not only light, the response is also more immediate when the force is generated. You can feel the direct driving power from the rear wheel when you pedal.
In the hand-woven wheel of DRIVE 40V, the tension values for each spoke of the front and rear wheels were almost identical, reaching 145kgf.
Therefore, DRIVE 40V can provide better aerodynamics and excellent stability, allowing you to have an advantage in full sprint and high-power climbing.
PERFORMANCE HUB
Drive’s hub is eye-catching, stylish black is representative. front hub uses 6803 ceramic bearing, rear hub uses 6902 ceramic bearing. The larger the bearing, the better the rigidity. On the premise of ensuring the performance output of the hub, we try to reduce the weight of the hub body and minimize the rolling resistance.
The hub uses 18 spokes on the front wheel, the rear hub has 21 spokes, 14 on the drive side and 7 on the non-drive side.
After 6 months of continuous design and continuous improvement, we have found the best geometric angle of the hub so that the spoke tension on the driving side is the same as the tension on the non-driving spoke side, which is very important. In this way, the stability of the wheels can be improved to a greater extent when entering a curve quickly.
CERAMIC BEARINGS
Ceramic bearings can make your speed faster. Both front and rear wheels of Drive use the ceramic bearings with very low friction coefficient. Ceramic bearing further increase the rim rolling efficiency with lower rolling resistance. At the same speed, you may have an obvious feeling that the low resistance ceramic bearing makes riding easier.
BRAKE SURFACE
Drive 40V uses a mixture material of high-temperature resin developed by Elitewheels and Japan’s Toray T800 carbon fiber. The temperature of brake surface can reach 270℃。There is a groove in the brake surface, which ensures an excellent braking performance even on a long distance downhill on rainy days.
RIM TYPE
All drive wheels are tubeless compatible.We design an R angle, the rounded edge makes tire installation easier and offers increased support during hard cornering with a softer edge and larger surface area.The contact area of the tire falls within the rim, providing good wall support and improved handling, allowing for lower tire pressure with wider rims.
